Listening 4

Take a walk in your mind.

Here’s a classic memory system that helps you to remember things by linking them to different places.
Imagine you have a number of items to buy the shops.
Ok, now think of a journey you know very, very well like this one, and watch to the nearby bowling alley. You gonna (going to) use the points along this route to remember the list of objects.
Here's what to do: First, think about the start of your walk say it's coming out of the front door of your house. And the first item is sausages. So we want to imagine some sausages and positioned at the front the door. But we want to really remember them, so no toddlers make them, here you'll have to squeeze random to get out.
Ok, so that's item one.
The second landmark keep pass in your imaginary walk is a post box and the second item, is red. You want to associate the bread with the post-box again in some crazy way that will stick in your mind.
Ok, the next landmark is a slide in the Swing Park and the next thing we want to remember is eggs. So let's see the eggs, and drum up some action…..Now you got the idea no problem imagining each of the items in their location.
The phone box suddenly has a pineapple crammed into it. The church get candles, golden-sierra drips down the steps of the underpass, lovely, and finally at the bowling alley it´s custard chaos.
Now when using a long journey in your mind you'll be able to remember every single item, in order, or even backwards. When you have a new list to remember you can use the same route again, your brain will magically forget where the old object was and the new one will take its place.

So, it’s official: remembering things it’s a walk in the park. Hey…
